Alexander arms made a new toy for us gun nuts. Their Ar-15 is built from the ground up to shoot the .17 hmr round.
It comes standard with an 18 barrel and two 10 round mags.
Its cheaper to shoot than .223 ammo but more powerful than a .22 the .17 hmr is an excellent round for small game hunting.
Previously because of the power of this tiny round it could not function in a semi auto rifle very well. However most these rifles were made for .22 cal and then modified for the much more powerful .17 hmr round.
This resulted in lots of kaabooms and .17 hmr rounds started putting warnings on the boxes not to use the round in semi auto guns.
Alexander arms claims they addressed the power issue and this semi auto gun shoots .17 hmr flawlessly.
